EDA Child Care
Program Overview
What is EDA Child Care?
EDA Child Care is a small, relationship-focused childcare program located within Evergreen Dance Academy in East Vancouver. Our program is designed for children ages 2.5–6 years old and combines structured routines, play-based learning, movement, outdoor play, and social-emotional development in a calm and engaging environment.
Our goal is to create a safe and welcoming space where children can learn, move, explore, and build confidence while preparing for future school success.
EDA Child Care is licensed through the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) and operates during weekday daytime hours only.
Hours, Ages & Enrollment
What ages do you serve and what are your hours?
EDA Child Care serves children ages 2.5–6 years old. Children must be fully toilet trained prior to enrollment.
Program Hours:
Monday–Friday
7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
EDA Child Care is intentionally designed as a small program with an enrollment of 15 children. This allows us to maintain a calm environment, strong supervision, and meaningful relationships with both children and families.
Because enrollment is limited, available spots are secured through completed registration paperwork and paid enrollment deposits.
Daily Schedule & Program Structure
What does a typical day look like?
Our daily schedule is built around consistency, structure, movement, and play-based learning.
Children participate in:
- Circle time and group activities
- Learning centers and hands-on exploration
- Art and sensory activities
- Outdoor play and walks to a nearby neighborhood park
- Indoor movement and gross motor activities
- Rest/quiet time
- Social-emotional learning and guided play
We follow a structured daily routine while still allowing flexibility for children’s developmental needs, interests, and energy levels throughout the day.
Meals, Rest Time & Daily Care
How are meals, snacks, and rest time handled?
Families provide daily meals, snacks, and water bottles for their child. Children should arrive each day with clearly labeled food items appropriate for the length of the day. EDA Child Care maintains a small supply of pre-packaged emergency food items in the event a child’s lunch or snack is forgotten or unusable.
Children will participate in a scheduled lunch, snack, and rest/quiet period each day as part of the program routine. Rest time is designed to provide children an opportunity to reset and recharge in a calm environment. Children who do not sleep will still participate in quiet activities during the designated rest period.
Our program also incorporates daily self-help and independence skills throughout routines such as meals, cleanup, handwashing, transitions, and classroom responsibilities.
Tuition, Tours & Additional Information
How does enrollment work and where can I learn more?
EDA Child Care plans to open in August and will offer scheduled by-appointment tours for interested families. Starting in June and continue as needed.Â
Program tuition is:
$1,550 per month
Because enrollment is intentionally limited to 15 children, families who wish to reserve a spot will be required to submit a:
$250 enrollment deposit
The deposit will be applied toward the child’s first month of care.
We believe being transparent about tuition and enrollment expectations upfront helps families determine whether the program is the right fit for their needs.
